Leave Something

Leave something where you’ve been
don’t just clear a space.
Leave something where you were
that no one can replace.

Leave something your hands have touched
that’s unmistakably you.
Leave something behind
no one else would do.

Leave something here when you’ve gone
sturdy enough to stand on.
Leave something for someone else
when your life here is done.

Vivian Jones Moore

This is inspired by the realization that we cannot control
the length of our lives,
but we can control how meaningful our
lives can be
